Xinyi Solar Subsidiary Named Among China's Top 100 Green Power Consumers, Advancing Dual Carbon Goals
Recently, at the 2025 New Power System Development (Chongli) Forum hosted by the China Electricity Council (CEC), the "2024 China Top 100 Enterprises in Green Power (Green Certificate) Consumption" list (hereinafter referred to as the "Top 100 List") was jointly released by CEC, the Beijing Electric Power Trading Center, the Guangzhou Electric Power Trading Center, the Inner Mongolia Electric Power Trading Center, and the Hydropower and Water Resources Planning and Design General Institute. Xinyi PV Industry (Anhui) Holding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Xinyi Solar, was named to the list, highlighting the company's solid practices and outstanding achievements in the energy transition.
As a world-leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) glass and a leading domestic operator of PV solar farms, Xinyi Solar has always adhered to a business philosophy of "Green Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development" and persisted in its "Two Increases and One Reduction" strategy. The company actively expands production capacity for PV glass and the installed capacity of its PV solar farms, while effectively reducing the unit energy consumption and emissions in its manufacturing processes. Currently, the company's annual PV glass output meets the demand for 150 GW of PV modules, while its PV solar farms generate over 7 billion kWh of green electricity annually. This is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 5.8 million tons. This recognition not only affirms the company's green development strategy but also underscores the critical role PV enterprises play in promoting green power consumption across society.
The selection for the Top 100 List was based on authentic and reliable 2024 green power consumption data from enterprises, covering key indicators such as green power transactions and green certificate trading. With a comprehensive statistical scope and complete data, the list includes leading companies from sectors including energy, petrochemicals, iron and steel, manufacturing, technology, and services, demonstrating the significant contributions enterprises across industries are making to the green transition of energy consumption.
Listed enterprises collectively consumed 224.6 billion kWh of green electricity in 2024, a 3.9-fold increase year-on-year, showcasing the positive outcomes of Chinese enterprises in greening their energy and power use. The release of the list has also helped stimulate market vitality for green consumption. Furthermore, by showcasing the green practices of industry leaders, it establishes a feasible model for others in the industrial chain, encouraging wider adoption of green consumption practices across society and further promoting the deep integration of green and low-carbon concepts.
